Potty Time
What happens when you have an office of 20 people and only one bathroom to share among all of you? Potty Time. An app that tells you when the bathroom is occupied. By programming an arduino that was hooked up to light switches, which routed through servers to talk to the app interface, we created a system that saved people time. By using our app, people didn’t have to walk to the bathroom only to notice it was occupied, they could simply launch our app and see in the comfort of their desk chair. Within the app people could also add themselves to a virtual waiting line, with push notifications that told you when it was your turn to go. This may sound like an overuse of technology, but I promise it was not. This was our Hatch It! Lab project last quarter and we won best in innovation.
